Valery Kalachev 

Senior Vice President Russia

Valery Kalachev has more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry. Since 1992, he has been focused on wireless and embedded technologies.

Born in 1956, he graduated from Nizhny Novgorod Technical University in 1979; then, he dealt with equipment development for integral circuit manufacturing. He held the position of senior developer in Research Institute of Technology and Production Management of the Ministry of Electronic Industry in the USSR. During 10 years of working there, Valery obtained more than 50 patents.

In 1988, he led the International Business Department of the Research Institute. In 1991, Valery Kalachev founded Telma Soft. Being the Director, he managed to grow the company from five to 1,000 employees; he is still developing the business. Telma Soft has become the first company in Russia to achieve SEI CMM Level 5. Furthermore, Telma Soft is a leader in software development for mobile industry and is in the Top100 IT companies in Russia. In 2006, Telma Soft came third in leading SW developing companies in Expert RA agency rating.

Telma Soft and TLM Communications, both private companies run by Mr Kalachev, were acquired by Teleca in April 2006. Valery Kalachev became MD of Teleca Russia and a member of the Teleca Mobile Management Team. In these positions, he has contributed a lot to making Teleca a more competitive player.
